New Year Resolutions!

I've got a couple of resolutions so I thought I would share them with you.

1) Drink more water, this was a resolution I had last year which only lasted a month. It is going to last longer this year. I find my skin is better and I have more energy.

2) Eat healthier, I do not want to eat less calories or count them. But I want to increase the amount of vegetables and especially fruit I eat.

3) Go on at least one run a week, to stay healthier and improve fitness ready for cross country (mention this in previous post).

4) Keep Smiling !

What are your new year resolutions ?

I hope you found this post interesting!

Have a great new year.

Staying Happy !

Hey, today is a slightly different blog post, more personal.

A few pretty bad things have happened recently which have made my sad. I cannot do anything about it, but it made me think of ways to stop me dwelling on what makes me sad. So I thought I would share my methods with you.

1)      The main way I keep happy is by making lists in my head. E.g. What I am going to spend my money on, places where I want to visit, what I would pack for a holiday. This helps keep my mind off things and keeps me distracted.

2)      Another thing I do is to “Keep Smiling". This is what my mum keeps telling me to do this when I am sad and it works. Along with thinking positive thoughts it helps to make everything seem less sad.

3)      Having a goal. This keeps me distracted as I have to work for something. What I am working for at the moment is revision of mocks starting on the 5th January and a cross country competition which if I do well in will enable me to get top marks for cross country in PE.

How do you stay happy and positive ?

I hope you enjoyed this post. And hopefully at least one person will find this useful.
I hope you had a great Christmas !

It's Christmas Eve !

It is Christmas day tomorrow ! So why not share with you my Christmassy baths bombs, bubbles bars and baths melts from lush.

This is the Luxury Lush Pud, smells amazing but not Christmassy !

My favourite bath bomb is the butter ball, and this is called the Butter Bear. It is the same but just in a different shape. And it is cheaper !!! I am going to have to stock up on these before they stop producing them.

This is called Christmas eve, and if I have time I am going to use it on Christmas eve, I am so inventive ! Believe it or not but i have never had a bubble bar, they always seemed like a fath to me and cost more than the bombs in general. So will post something on my instagram once i have used it!

This is called The Melting Snowman and it is a bath melt. I have again never tried a bath melt, and this one smells exactly like Christmas so cannot wait to use this. It is also really cute!

Thank you for reading this post.

Have a very merry Christmas !!!

Feliz Navidad (if I continue with the Spanish theme)

Pepper Mint creams.

I think peppermint is a very Christmassy flavour. So this recipe is perfect for a gift or to have a bowl of them in your living room for visitors to snack on.
 You will need :
A duo icing bag, a baking tray, grease proof paper, a bowl, an electric mixer (but it is not crucial), cream cheese, peppermint flavouring and icing sugar.

Step No. 1 - Put about 125g of cream cheese in a bowl.

Step No. 2 - Add 1/2 tsp to the bowl.

Step No. 3 - Whisk together using an electric whisk.

Step No. 4 - Sieve in about 3 cups of icing sugar. (add more if it needs thickening up as the mixture should look like think whipped cream ). And mix. As you can see i made quite a big mess with the icing sugar !

Step No. 5 - Put a star shaped nozzle on the end of the icing bag and put half of the mixture in one pouch of the duo icing bag. My nozzle had disappeared today, I was not having a good baking day !
Step No. 6 - Add a couple of drops of food colouring to the remaining half, so you get a bright red colour. Unfortunately mine did not turn out a very good colour this time ? And sorry for not adding a picture here, I completely forgot to take one. Oops ! The duo icing bag was meant to give the effect of a candy cane, which is peppermint flavoured.
Step No. - Add the red (but in my case pink) mixture to the other pouch of the piping bag.

Step No. 8 - Line a baking tray with grease proof paper.

Step No. 9 - Pipe little blobs onto the tray and leave for 1 hour before putting them into the fridge/freezer to keep them fresh.

Step No. 10 - Enjoy !!!

Sorry I do not have a picture of the end result as my family swooped before they were even dry and ate the majority of them !

Thank you for reading this post !!

My Christmassy Room Decor

Its 5 days til Christmas !!! So I have finished decorating my room to help me get in a festive mood. So I am going to share with you some of it.

My bookcase is my main Christmassy area in my room.

I got this angel years ago for my birthday and not sure if its meant for Christmas or all year round, but I love it and think it is really cute.

My got my paper chains last year, they are quite traditional but subtle which is why I bought them (I did not want something that was in your face). The baubles are a new purchase of mine which I bought from a shop near Covent Garden when I went to London a couple of weeks ago. I love that they are purple (my favourite colour) and go with my room quite well.

These Christmas lights are a new purchase and they are working well so far considering I payed hardly anything for them. I hang them between my bookshelves and they make my room super duper Christmassy.

This mini Christmas tree has been put out at Christmas since I was tiny. It is decorated in some green and red hearts, a candy cane, tinsel and a cute Santa decoration. As you can see I already have a couple of presents under my tree from friends and myself (am I the only one who buys stuff form themselves near Christmas and wraps it up ? or am I just weird).

This is my favourite Christmas decoration, I cannot find the exact same one the internet, the this one is similar. It changes colour and I love it !!!

This is another set of lights on my bed to continue with the Christmassy theme
.

I hope you enjoyed this post.
Thank you for reading !

Gift Ideas

I know most people may have already done their Christmas shopping, but for those who haven't and are doing everything last minute, here is some ideas for cheap but really nice Christmas pressies for any female friend !

Lets start with the most expensive gift, it is the Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick set of 3 costing £16, which is a good deal, as individually these cost £8. I have not tried these properly yet, but I have heard great things about them. With this set I would add a cute hand warmer, like this one from Primark which is only £1 ! This adds a bit of Christmas to the pressie.

This is a gift comprising of a posh chocolate set from M&S, unfortunately cannot find it on their website? These super soft aloe infused winter warmer socks from Primark for £2.50, and another hand warmer again from Primark but in a different pattern. Would love to receive this myself and would be great for a 'Secret Santa' pressie as it is pretty basic and cheap.

These next items are both from Primark (seems to be my Christmas pressie place to shop this year). The shower set, is £3 but mine was reduced to £2 (bargain) and the pair of socks are personally my favourite socks in the whole wide world. They cost £3 and have a furry lining !!! and rubber sticky bits on the bottom so you do not slide about (no one wants to look silly on Christmas day)The design is also really Christmassy !

I hope you enjoyed this post.
I enjoyed shopping for the things in this (retail therapy)!
Remember to take off the price labels, I made the mistake of not doing that, oops.

Thanks for reading !

Christmassy Nails and Lips

Today I thought I would share with you what my nail and lip Christmas combo is.

My lips is the Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipstick in '107'. I think this is the perfect deep red colour for Christmas ! It is my favourite red and I think it suits me quite well.

My nails is the Boujois 1 Seconde Gel Nail Polish. It is in the colour '11-Rouge In Style'. It is a very vibrant red. But gets my in the holiday spirit.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Whilst writing this I am listening to some Christmas tunes. My favourites are Bandaid - Do they know its Christmas ? and The Pogues - Fairy-tale of New York.

DIY : Christmas Hot chocolate Gift

This gift is super easy to make, all you need is some instant hot chocolate powder, marshmallows and if you want to do a mocha version, some coffee granules.

You then pour in a mug hotchocolate worth of hot chocolate powder into a piping bag then add loads of marshmallows. To do the mocha, add less hot chocolate but then around 1/2 teaspoons of coffee granules. Obviously use more or less depending on how coffeeish you want it. Once you are finished get some Christmassy ribbon and tie them off at the top to create cute little hot drink gifts for friends, family and lovers.

Thank you very much for reading this post.

DIY : Brownies MIx Gift

Today I am going to show you how to make this really good gift idea, which you could give to someone anytime of the year but I only ever have time to do it at  Christmas when I am feeling creative and have time.

You will need : A jar , 1 1/8 cup plain flour, 1/3 cup cocoa 2/3 cup granulated sugar, 2/3 cup muscovado sugar (I used dark), 1/3 - 1/4 cup chopped walnuts, 1/2 - 1 cup milk chocolate chips. You can swap the walnuts and chocolate chips for anything you want or even not include them at all.

Measure all the ingredients out into separate bowls. My bowls are very childish, sorry. Hahaha.

Then pour in layers of the different ingredients, mine went very messily but I am sure anyone would get more distinctive layers than I could. I started with half of the flour, then the cocoa powder, then granulated sugar, then muscovado sugar, then the walnuts and half of the milk chocolate chips, then the rest of the flour then last but not least the remaining chocolate chips.

Then create a label saying the following ;

'Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees Celsius (fan oven - 160 degrees Celsius). Grease cake tin, Mix jar ingredients together and add 2 teaspoons vanilla essence, 2/3 cup oil and 3 eggs. Pour into the tin, smooth top and bake for 15-20 minutes ! '

Then it is ready for you to give to anyone you like, a friend, a parent, a sibling, a grandparent, a lover.

I hope this gave you an idea for a Christmas gift.

Thank you for reading.

DIY : Christmas Phone Case

Today I am going to show you how to create a festive phone case.

Step 1 : Get a white phone case. I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 mini. The white case I bought off amazon was about £2. If you have a different phone buy a different case, but ensure it is a hard one which I not shiny.

Step 2 : Sketch your design lightly in pencil on your phone case. I decided to do a reindeer with some Christmas trees, because they are relatively simple and easy to draw.

Step 3 : Go over the pencil lines in a black marker pen.

Step 4 : Rub out pencil marks.

Step 5 : Put your phone in to your beautifully decorated phone case. Enjoy !

Thank you for reading this post. I hope you found it useful.

DIY : Christmassy Jars

Today I am going to tell you how to create festive jars to put candles/fairy lights in. I have tried to make these DIY's have no weird stuff involved just objects you can find around your house.

Step 1 : Collect your jars. I have a collection of three different sizes which I found around the house.

Step 2 : Mark out the width the paper need to be.

Step 3 : Sketch your design. I did Christmas trees in all of mine as I am not very creative.

Step 4 : Cut out your design, so there is a silhouette of your design in the paper.

Step 5 : Using a glue stick, stick the paper to your jar. And smooth down edges.

Step 7 : Repeat with other jars.

Step 6 : Arrange jars and add candles or fairy lights. Even use them for storing pens.

Thank you for reading this post, I think this DIY went really well.

I hope you enjoyed this post, and it has inspired you to go to London to see the lights. They definitely made my whole family feel really Christmassy and happy !
