Lifesaving Hair Products

I thought I would share with you some of the hair products which I could not live with out !

Product No.1 is V05 Ultimate Hold Weather Resistant Hair Spray . I love this product because it does not leave your hair crispy and smelling of hairspray. It is weather resistant so on a windy day my hair style easily stays put. It is also quite cheap and is probably the best hair spray I have ever used.

Product No.2 is the Batiste Dry Shampoo I get the Original Clean and Classic one in the 400ml bottle because I find the smell does not affect my perfume but leaves my hair smelling like I had recently washed it. I get the 400ml bottle as I use quite a lot of it and do not want to suddenly run out, so this size lasts a long time.

Product No.3 is the V05 Smoothly Does It Heat Protect Styling Spray. The main thing I love about this is that it smells amazing, almost like soap and glory ? I also love that it is less than £4 which is really cheap. This product effectively protects my heat on the rare occurrence that I blow dry, curl or straighten my hair. It is really important to use a heat protect spray, as it protects from heated styling tools which dry out, singe and damage your hair. I have seen a vast decrease in the amount of split ends I get after starting to use this heat protect spray. Love it !
Hope this blog post interested you.

Holiday Essentials Haul

Went shopping for stuff I need to take with me on holiday. But may have bought a few extras. Oops !
First I bought Bach Rescue Pastilles as I get anxiety on boats, and as I am travel to spain via a 24hr ferry ride I thought they were essential.

Second I bought sun cream, because I don't want to turn crispy. This is one of the only sun creams that I am not allergic to.

Thirdly I bought loads of bottles to put my cleansers, shampoo and moisturisers in, so I do not have to take the whole bottle.

Next I bought some hair removal cream as I hate taking a razor on holiday. Hair removal cream only starts growing back after almost 2 weeks. So is perfect. I love this one because it is for dry skin and it is pink !

I also bought a mini mouth wash, so I can keep my fangs sparkling.

Then I went to Newlook and bought a pair of retro tortoise shell sunglass and a maxi dress.

After that I went to poundland and bought 2 pairs of headphones, as they will probably break but are still cheap. And I need to listen to music on the ferry to distract myself.

Finally I went to Wilkos and bought a wash bag to put my shower stuff in. It has a draw string which makes it super easy to carry around a campsite and my bottles will not fall out. I also love the colour and think its really cute, and it only cost me £1.

What are your holiday essentials ?

Hope you enjoyed this haul.

How To : Make A Greek Salad

I'm not much of a salad person, I just hate salad leaves as they got stuck in my braces and make me feel like I'm eating a tree. So after going to Greece last summer I became obsessed with Greek salads. Although the salad I make is not as good as the ones I had in Greece it is still pretty good. I could literally eat this salad for every meal of the day.
This salad contains; cucumber, tomatoes, red onion, olives, feta, oregano and olive oil. It will serve two people but obviously if you want it to serve more then you can adjust the amounts. I have also listed the ingredients in grams and teaspoons/tablespoons. So if you need different measurements convert them yourself.
Step No. 1 - Roughly chop 4 beef tomatoes, one peeled cucumber, 1/4 of a onion and 15 pitted olives ( I love Greek kalamata olives in this salad).
Step No. 2 - Place all these chopped veggies in a large salad bowl.
Step No. 3 - Then crumble between 85g and 100g of feta into a variety of sized chunks. Then place in the large salad bowl with the veggies.
Step No. 4 - Measure out 1-2 tsp. of oregano into the salad bowl.
Step No. 5 - Measure out 4 tbsp. of extra virgin olive oil.
Step No. 6 - Mix everything together using your hands.
Step No. 7 - Cut some crusty bread into slices.
Step No. 8 - Eat !
Hope you enjoyed this recipe !
As you can see you do not have to be precise with this recipe which makes it really quick and easy to make. I sometimes also have this with chicken or a BBQ. I also substitute some of the veggies for red pepper if I do not have enough veggies.

How To : Wash Your Makeup Brushes

Washing your makeup brushes is very important, as the bacteria from your face is caught by the brush when your makeup is applied. So if you do not wash your makeup brushes then that bacteria is spread all over your face whenever you apply makeup. This can lead to breakouts.

Step No. 1- Lay out your dirty brushes.

Step No. 2 - Squirt some soap onto your hand. I use the Radox moisturise hand wash which contains antibacterial ingredients which is important when you are trying to get rid of bacteria.

Step No. 3 - Run your brush under the tap to dampen
Step No. 4 - Swirl your dampened brush in the soap in your hand.

Step No. 5 - Run under tap again and squeeze, to get rid of the soap.
Step No. 6 - Leave out to dry with the brush hanging over the side slightly so its shape is not changed.

Review: X-Men Days Of Future Past

http://spinoff.comicbookresources.com/tag/x-men-days-of-future-past/
Two months ago I went to see X-Men Days Of Future Past at the local Showcase Cinema. So thought I would do a review about it.
IMDb give it a 8.4/10 and describe it as a adventure, action, sci-fi film.
It is directed by Bryan Singer and has multiple famous actors in it, such as: Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry, Nicholas Hoult and Patrick Stewart.
It's blurb says :
"The X-Men send Wolverine to the past in a desperate effort to change history and prevent an event that results in doom for both humans and mutants."
After watching X-Men First Class earlier in the year I became obsessed with X-Men. As soon as Days of Future Past was in the cinema I dragged my sister to come and watch it with me.
OH MY GOODNESS !
The film was amazing ! I was expecting it to be good but it was beyond my expectations. I was speechless. It was slightly confusing at first but was easier to get your head round as the film went on .
Without giving too much away, the X-Men who are now old send Wolverine to the past to change history and prevent an event that results in death and war for both humans and mutants.
I loved this film and think all the actors are really talented in this film and cannot wait for the film to come out on DVD/ Blu-ray.

Scrubs: Sanctuary Spa Vs. Soap and Glory

I regulary use a scrub in the shower to keep my skin nice. I have been trying many different drugstore scrubs and have narrowed it down to two. The Sanctuary Spa Mela Black Pepper and Ginger Body Scrub and the Soap and Glory Scrub 'Em and Leave 'Em Body Buff. But which is best ?
Both of these are the mini versions as I am testing them out before choosing which one to purchase in the full size.
Sanctuary Spa Mela Black Pepper and Ginger Body Scrub
I prefer this scrub to the original Sanctuary Spa scrub as I find it works better but is still gentle. I think this is due to the crushed coconut shell which exfoliates the skin. I also find it leaves the body really soft this is because of the ginger extracts and black pepper oil.
Soap and Glory Scub 'Em and Leave 'Em Body Buff
When I started using the Sanctuary Spa scrub I though it was the best thing ever but after using this I have discovered that I am unsure which I prefer. It contains salt which is an amazing exfoliator. It also contains Babassu oil which leaves my body soft and hydrated. I love the smell it is the Mist You Madly's scent which is described as having "notes of bergamot, blackcurrant, magnolia, freesia, vanilla and musk". Love it ! The only down side is that it is in a tub not a tube which means it fills up with water if you forget to put the lid back on in the shower another disadvantage is that it is more expensive than the sanctuary spa scrub.

Overall I think that the Soap and Glory Scrub 'Em and Leave 'Em is slightly better than the Sanctuary Spa Mela Black Pepper and Ginger Body Scrub. Although it is in  a tub not a tube it has advantages which outweigh its disadvantages. I would probably be more likely to repurchase the soap and glory scrub if I have enough money as I think it leaves my body softer and more exfoliating. And the smell is amazing !!

Collective Haul

Been shopping multiple times recently so am doing a collective haul.
I went to Topshop, Asos, H&M, Newlook,Dorothey Perkins, Boots and Superdrug.
From Topshop I got :
Light Blue Viscose Top (which I wore to the village carnival) - This top is really comfy and great for the summer
Grey Wash Runner Shorts - already had a denim coloured pair and found them really comfy so bought another, oops !
Asos :
Sweetheart Navy Skater Dress - One of my friends was having a black tie birthday party so as I don't wear long dresses thought this was appropriate and its super comfy.
H&M :
Black Chinos - Needed a pair of smart trousers which I could also use for work experience. Unfortunately they were slightly too big, but I used a belt to keep them up and it was fine.
Left to Right - Asos to H&M to Topshop
From Newlook :
Tan Leather Look Belt - Needed these to keep my chinos from H&M up.
Light Blue Crotchet Daisy Hem T-shirt - Saw this in Newlook and fell in love have literally worn it every day since I bought it a week ago.
Black Strappy Cut Out Low Heel Open Toe Sandals - Needed a pair of black heels as did not have any that fit and were comfy, these are really comfy and could wear them all night.
Dorothey Perkins:
Tan Casual Skinny Belt - Also got this in a attempt to keep up my black chinos.
Last week I was feeling tired and drained after exams so took myself makeup shopping to improve my mood ! So went a bit mad on the makeup front but will definitely use everything I bought !

Left to Right - Dorothey Perkins to Newlook
Boots:
Sleek Blusher in "Flushed" -  LOVE this ! It is a pretty pinkie red colour which adds a natural summer flush to your face, hence the name !
Sleek Contour Kit in Light" - I have been meaning to get a contour kit so had been researching it. Lots of people recommended Sleek but said the bronzer was too dark which explains why I chose the lightest shade. Also love this and I definitely think Sleek has become one of my favourite makeup brands as it isn't too expensive but is amazing quality and I love the packing.
Clean and Clear Deep Cleansing Lotion fro Sensitive Skin -  Recently ran out of the cleanser which I featured in my Daily Skincare Routine but when I went into boots I couldn't find it so had to settle on this cleanser by Clean and Clear which seems pretty similar except that it is blue.
Impulse in the Fragrance "Temptation" -  I have almost ran out of my current impulse so as I love the fragrance I repurchased it.
Eco Tools Eye Enhancing Duo Brush Set - This was a definite impulse buy was not sure why I needed it but as it was only £6.99 for 4 brushes (2 doubled ended brushes), I thought why not.

Superdrug :
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in "Silky Beige" - This was my third repurchase of this product as I find it is amazing at  making my rare oily spots matte and helping my makeup last!
Angled Blusher Brush - This brush was another impulse buy but kind of needed it. I thought Superdrug brushes would not be soft and would be awful.
at blending but I was surprised. This brush is amazing and cheaper than a Real Technique brush. I could not find this brush on the website ?
MUA Eye Shadow Palette in "Heaven and Earth" - Had heard lots of great things about this and as it was only £4 and as I was feeling spendy I purchased it. Has good pigmentation lasts a couple of hours, blends well and is really cheap. Unfortunately couldn't find this palette on the website.
I hope you have enjoyed reading about my shopping trips and hope this helps you.
Sorry for not posting on Wednesday but will try and post regularly from now on.
Bye xxx
