I Play The Cello ?!?!?!



Hello, you may or may not know, that I play the cello ( a giant violin, or a small double bass, which ever way you want to look at it !)
At the end of February I did grade 5 ! It was the only exam I have done in which  I actually knew the scales, woop woop ! So I was optimistic. Exams never go great, but after coming out I thought I had passed. My pieces went well, my scales not so much (due to nerves) and aural not good (I am a cellist not a singer, examiners do not understand !).
But after getting my results back I was so happy ! I got a merit !!! I had never had a merit before, all the extra practice and optimism must have paid off.

Yoga !

Hello. Recently I have not been sleeping too well. It takes me ages to get to sleep and then some nights I wake up a couple of times, but the next day I feel awful and do not want to get out of bed. I know this isn't that bad compared to some people but it effects the way I live and act, I had to do something.
 
So before bed as much a possible I have been trying to do YOGA ! It makes me feel like a mad, crazy old lady saying I do yoga before bed (I guess that fits with the blog name !), but it seriously does work to relax my mind by taking deep breaths.
 
I mainly use videos on YouTube to help me as I am definitely not a expert or anything like that. My favourite channel is  'Yoga With Adriene'. I like doing Adriene's videos as she talks you through how to do everything and the quality is very good, unlike some of the others I have tried.
 
My favourite video, its quite long but definitely worth it !
 
I would definitely persuade you to try doing a bit of yoga before bed, nothing extreme or even long. And hopefully with GCSEs looming in the not to distant future, yoga may help me stay calm, collected and relaxed so hopefully in a couple of months I will be the proud owner of 10 GCSEs !!!
 
Have you been stressed about anything ? What are you methods to cope ?

Smoothie Obsession

Hello, sorry for not posting last week. Have been really busy. How are you ???
Since getting a new blender a couple of weeks ago I have been making (and drinking) smoothies loads. So i thought i would share with you my standard recipe which I adapt depending on what ingredients I have and what I feel like using. 

I use:


A mug of frozen fruit ( in this I used strawberries, raspberries and blueberries).
1-2 teaspoons of honey (depending on the fruit, with berries I use more).
1/2-1 teaspoon of lime (or lemon) juice.
2 tablespoons natural yogurt
1-2 tablespoons of oats.
1 tablespoon of chia seeds with a bit of juice.
Fruit juice or milk (enough to get it to the right consistency).

  

I put the frozen fruit, honey, lime juice, oats, yogurt and chia seeds into the blender. Once blended add juice. And voila, an amazing smoothie is made.

February Favourites !

Sorry for not posting last week, i have been super busy which i know is not a good enough excuse, so very very sorry.

February has been and gone, so it is time for another favorites post !
This month i have been loving a number of beauty, body and food products. Lets start with food.


Stroopwafels are a dutch snack/waffle thing with syrup inside. They taste amazing and always buy loads when in Holland/Netherlands. Recently I realized they are now sold in the UK in the coop! So definitely a favorite for me this month.
The other food favorite is Branston Baked Beans, my favorites used to be Heinz but my mum bought these instead to try. These are sooooo much nicer and more flavorsome ! Amazing.

I only have one body favorite this month and it is the Body Shop Raspberry Body Scrub !!! I have already done a post about it. But love it. 

Now onto beauty; I have been loving the Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoos which i have also done a post on. I now have two, in the shades, Permanent Taupe and Creamy Beige! 


Since cutting my hair a lot shorter during the February holidays, i have been using a volumizing moose by Shockwaves to add volume (obvs, round of applause for me, hahaha). I really like the look it gives to my naturally flat hair. Been using it every time i have washed my hair this month.

This month i have also been loving the Argan Oil Lip Balm by Body Shop. Had it for a while and have probably mentioned it before. A definite favorite of this month and hopefully many more.
