OOTD : Village Carnival

Today I thought I would tell you about what I wore to the local village carnival yesterday. My outfit was many chosen on account of how comfy they were and if I could easily run about in them as my friends and I were planning to play rounders. So here it is :

On my feet I wore Topshop Pale Blue Lace Trim (frilly) Socks which cost a lot compared the primark ones I usually buy but they are really comfy and cute. I paired these with my lilac multiple tongue converse which I have in  a size 7. They are extremely comfy even to run about in and look really cute with the pale blue frilly socks. They also last a really long time as ive had them for over a year and there is almost no damage to them even though I wear them everywhere.
On my legs I wore Topshop Blue Running Shorts which I got in a size 8 and they are the comfiest shorts I own, you can run about in them without getting a major wedgy although they do ride up a bit.

On my body I wore Topshop Pale Blue Viscose Tank which I got in a size 10 but could have probably got away with a size 8, however it fits me really well as I have quite wide shoulders.
I then used my Trespass rucksack (not so cool) to carry a cardigan, rounders bat and ball, my phone, money and hay fever eye drops. Although it is not the most fashionable bag it is  very practical and I take it almost everywhere with me when I need a lot of stuff.

I wore very simple and natural makeup as I knew I would sweat so didn't want to put too much on. I just wore moisturiser with spf 15 in, my Rimmel Stay Matte powder, my natural collection blusher in the shade 'Rosy Glow' and a bit of mascara.
It seems like a wore a lot of topshop, woops.
Overall, I think my outfit was sporty and cute.
Hope you enjoyed this post.

Guess What My Favourite Bath and Shower Product Is ?

 My favourite bath product is...

It claims to produce a mass of creamy bubbles which leave your skin velvety-soft. This product is one of the only bath products which doesn't leave my skin dry and dehydrated, it produces loads of bubbles which smell amazing which is the main reason why I love this product. Personally I think Sanctuary Spa original smell is one of my favourite fragrances, it doesn't have a definite scent. Its not really citrusy, too sweet nor does it have a flowery, all I can say is that it smells amazing ! When I put this product in the bath I could literally lie there for hours inhaling the smell and soaking up all the foamy goodness.

My favourite shower product is ...

Soap and glory describe this product as a "creamy clarifying shower gel" with the punch line "Yes you can have it all...Soft, smooth, sexy skin whenever you want it". This like the Sanctuary Spa bath soak is another product which doesn't dehydrate my skin, I believe this is due to the mandarin peel extract which the bottle advertises. When you rub it into your skin it turns into a creamy, thick lather which can easily cover your whole body
(even with a very small amount). I absolutely love the scent of this product which is scented with the Soap and Glory signature scent, called their "Original Pink Fragrance". This scent is another scent I cannot describe, but it is a very memorable scent. I have also tried two other fragrances of this shower gel, Orangeasm which is described as "Zesty fresh and sublimely skin softening, with spicy  ginseng&
pinkpepperberry, triple tea and moisture-boosting  technology to get you zingin’ out loud
with happiness" and Sugar Crush which is described as "Mixes mouth-watering kaffir limes, sparkling lemons, sweet vanilla musk and coconut oil. Energizing, revitalizing – it’s an instant wake up call for tired minds and bodies". Both of these smell amazing ! I just wish I had enough money to own all the fragrances so I could smell them all constantly. I am obsessed!
Another thing I love about Soap and Glory is their packaging... It is so cool and retro which is like nothing else on the market in this price range.

Hope you enjoyed this review/favourites post. Please comment any improvement you would like me to make as I really want to produce really good blog posts.

My Daily Skincare Routine

I thought I'd share with you my daily skincare routine. As a disclaimer, I'm not a professional skincare person, and these products work for my quite dry, almost spot free skin. I also have a small budget, so everything I use are relatively cheap drugstore products.
Products used in my daily skincare routine.
First I use my Boots Skin Clear Deep Cleansing Lotion, which I put on a cotton wool pad and wipe all over my face by avoiding my eye area. I find this gets ride of any makeup I didn't manage to remove the night before and also remove any oil around my nose. It also last a really long time, as I bought this around November and have used it everyday but is only just running out (which means an excuse to go shopping !)
Next I use the Simple Kind To Skin Purifying Cleansing Lotion which I squirt onto a cotton wool pad and use on my eye area, to remove any mascara and eyeliner which may be there, I also finds it can sooth my eye area especially when they are irritated due to hay fever.
I then moisturise using the Simple Kind To Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser as I find my deep cleanser dries out my skin which looks hideous under my makeup. I love this moisturiser as it is really light which means it doesn't make me overly oily which used to happen when I used a different moisturiser.
This is what I do in the morning when I wake up and at night to remove makeup and moisturise before falling asleep.
Also...
If I have time in the morning or at the weekends I use the Clearasil Daily Clear Vitamins and Extracts Scrub. It says on the packet that it is suitable for everyday use but I think its a little to harsh so only use it a couple of times a week. I also love the smell I have the one with avocado and pomegranate extracts, I love using it as it does just smell so good. I can't really describe the smell, but it smells fresh and lovely (if that helps).

My 'If I have time' products !
At the weekends in the evenings I occasionally like to use the Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Peel Off Face Mask. It claims to "deep clean, tighten pores and help to remove blackheads. I think it does deep clean, and I saw an reduction in the amount of blackheads I had once starting to use this. I love the smell, as it smells of tea tree which makes me feel all clean, I also love how its peel off so there is no mess when trying to remove it. Another advantage is that it is really cheap, only 99p and is usually on a 3 for 2 offer. I am also running out of this as have finished a tube and only have one small packet left.

Hope you enjoyed this post and found it useful in anyway. Please comment anything you would like me to blog about and any improvements I could make to my blog.
Thank you

Quick and Easy Freezer Friendly Marble Cupcakes

In this post I am going to show you how I make really chocolately marble cupcakes quickly and easily at the start of the week to take to school for lunch.
You will need; Cocoa, self-raising flour, soft cooking butter, caster sugar and eggs.
1. First was you hands, put an apron on and preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius/ gas mark 5.
2. Measure 140g of soft cooking butter in a bowl.
3. Then add 140g of caster sugar to the bowl.
4. After that crack 3 eggs into the bowl.
5. And finally add 100g of self-raising flour in a bowl.

6. Mix these in a bowl until well combined, I use and electric whisk as it is easier.
7. Split the mixture into two bowls
8. Mix in 25g of cocoa powder into one bowl.

9. Then in a well greased silicone cupcake tray, spoon one spoon of plain mixture and one spoon of chocolate mixture. This mixture makes about 12 good sized cupcakes.

10. Then use a knife to swirl the different mixtures together, but do not mix or else the marble effect will not work.

11. Then put in oven for about 12 - 15 minutes. If cooked the cupcakes should bounce back when touched.
12. Allow to cool completely on a wire rack. I usually leave them to cool over night.

123 Then put them into freezer bags. put in a freezer and remove a couple of hours before eating them.
Hope you like this post, sorry for not posting on Sunday was away at a netball camp. Please comment constructive criticism.

Little Mix Concert

Last week a friend and I went to see Little Mix, on their Salute Tour.
I liked Little Mix as much as the next person but I'd rather listen to more 'Indie'/'Alternative' bands; such as Peace and The Vaccines.
Salute. Their starting song, I love it so much !!
So when I was invited to go I was slightly sceptical. But OH MY GOODNESS Little Mix were amazing, the atmosphere was electric and they really involved the audience. Ever since the concert I've been obsessed, I've literally been listening to them every waking moment!
So if anyone is thinking of seeing Little Mix but is a bit sceptical like I was I would definitely recommend them as I thoroughly enjoyed it!!! And if your going to listen to pop music you should definitely listen to them.
Move, it had amazing choreography
Boy, I love this song. I personally think it sounds really 'sassy' at the start, it also shows they can do different styles of songs

Summer is Coming !!!!!

Recently, in the last couple of weeks, I have started to see summer beginning! Especially in the flowers which are blooming everywhere.
I hope it gets warmer and warmer over the next couple of week so we are able to have an amazing summer holidays!

If you are like me these beautiful flowers can really irritate you, which I find really annoying, but with a antihistamine and eyes drops, I can usually last a couple of hours outdoors.
Here are a selection on aquilegia that can be found everywhere. I took these on a lovely summer evening a couple of weeks ago.
I hope you found this post short and sweet, and are looking forward to summer like me. Please comment any constructive criticism regarding my posts, as I want to improve.

Detox Water: Am I the only one confused ?

Left to right: pomegranate and cucumber; raspberry, strawberry and lime; cucumber and lemon.
I do not own these pictures.

As I scroll down my news feed I see  pictures of 'detox water' which people have posted. The concept and reason for drinking 'detox water' complete confused me and made me curious. Why would anyone want to drink water full of fruit and vegetables ?
So I decided to do some research, 'detox water' is meant to cleanse your body, improve weight loss and increase your metabolism.
Left to right: Avocado, mint, watermelon, strawberry, raspberry, lemon/lime, cucumber, pomegranate.

Pictures taken from: www.sheknows.com, www.doctorgrabow.com, www.taste.com.au, www.vapeland.co.uk, www.yumyumgum.com, www.colourbox.com, www.rubyredpomegranates.co.uk, www.mrm-usa.com .

I researched what to put in your water and what are the benefits of these.
  • Avocado - Are high in vitamin K, Vitamin B9, vitamin B6, vitamin B5, vitamin C, and vitamin E.
  • Cucumber/Watermelon - Helps the body flush out toxins because it contains citrulline, an amino acid that helps the liver and kidneys filter and get rid of ammonia.
  • Strawberry -They contain anthocyanins, which stimulate the burning of stored fat, they also contains magnesium, potassium and vitamin K which improve bone health.
  • Lemon/Lime - Helps stimulate and regulate the digestive track (which is helpful with constipation, heartburn and gas), it stimulates bile production, and thins out bile
  • Mint leaves - Mint is meant to help you digest more effectively, which will improve the flow of bile from the liver, to the gallbladder and to the small intestine, where dietary fats are broken down. It supposedly helps relax cramped up stomach muscles.
  • Raspberry - The phytonutrients (mainly rheosmin) found in raspberries boost your metabolic rate they do this by increasing enzyme activity, heat production and oxygen consumption in certain fat cells.
  • Pomegranate - High in vitamin C, vitamin K, phosphorus, magnesium, calcium, zinc, iron and vitamin B5

I did not believe these claims but I tried out one using limes, raspberries and strawberries whilst I felt healthier after drinking it, which I think was mainly due to the fact that I do not usually drink as much water. So by drinking extra water it made my body happier. Although I felt healthier the hassle it took to make the drink was unnecessary as you had to leave it over night to let the water infuse before you can drink it. I am also not looking to lose weight and have a relatively high metabolism already so I personally see no reason to drink this apart from trying to be healthy.
Overall if you have time to make this and want to feel healthy you should give it ago but I cannot guarantee weight loss or increased metabolism.
Hope this helped you understand what a 'detox water' is, learnt about benefits of certain fruits and vegetables and most importantly enjoyed reading this post. To help me improve my blog please leave comments with ideas for future posts and constructive criticism.

Review: Rimmel 60 Seconds Nail Varnish

Left to right; 825, 703, 842 and 503

I only own four of the Rimmel 60 Second nail varnishes, ; 703 White Hot Love, 503 Mind the Gap, Victoria ,842 Too Cool To Tango and 825 Sky High.
The formula of them are pretty similar and only need one coat although 825 is slightly watery so you have to use an extra coat. They all dry in 60 seconds as the label says which I find very useful as when I apply nail varnish I always realise I need to do something, so they are dry before I smudge them.
As you can tell from the colours I own, I mainly like to paint my nails in shades of blue. My favourite colour from the ones I own is 503 Mind The Gap, Victoria. It is a lovely cornflower blue which I find myself wearing more and more during the summery weather we are experiencing.
These nail varnishes are perfect for when your about to go out but need to paint your nails as they dry so fast. I also find the normal Rimmel nail varnishes dry relatively fast compared to other nail varnish brands, e.g. Barry M and Essie.

One thing that makes me love these nail varnishes more than other brands are the brushes, which Rimmel call the 'Xpress Brush' which are advertised to produce a 1 second application time. They are really fat so you can easily cover the whole nail in one go (and your thumb in two) so it can take one second although to achieve a perfect the nail it may take longer . Another benefit over other brands is that they are quite cheap, as they are sold at £3.69 at Boots and are frequently on a 3 for 2 offer.
Swatches, Left to right; 842, 825, 503 and 703.
Overall I think Rimmel have successfully made very quick drying nail varnishes which come in multiple colours with cute names. I would recommend these to everyone and hope to buy more colours soon.
Hopefully you enjoyed this review and found it useful.
